Ian McKinnon is a self-taught photographer. He started taking pictures in the mid-1970s using an old Zenit EM camera. He then progressed to a Minolta.

In 2002 he got his first digital camera, a Nikon D200 and photography began to take over his life. His subjects, at the moment, are mainly landscape and architecture with some portrait work
